LXXVII

Archer made it to his cabin and there he found Simon. Archer quickly checked for a pulse, but Simon was dead.

“hm hm hm hm hm.” Someone behind him chuckled, “I guessed he was important.”

Archer turned, in the dim lamp light he had a hard time distinguishing what it was. The monstrous futures and large eyes were like nothing he had ever seen before.

“Oh not to fret.” Said Rahpika, “He went out screaming and begging for mercy.”

“You did this?” Archer accused. He grabbed his gun and fired at the beast. The bullet found its mark and Rahpika folded over.

It was silent a moment. The Rahpika laughed as he stood up, “Oh the rage, so sweet.” His bulky body moved towards archer, “it is intoxicating.”

“Hey fish face.” Said a female voice in the shadows. There was a twang of a bow and a small shaft thudded in Rahpika’s shoulder, “didn’t your mother ever tell you not to play with you food?” this mysterious young apprentice.

“You’re next.” Said Rahpika.

“I don’t think so.” Said the master came out from his hiding place and through an ax at Rahpika’s head. It split the monster’s head in half and killed it instantaneously.
